What is a Tricopter and Quadcopter Control board ?

This TriCopter/Quadcopter controller is a flight control board for 3 or 4 Rotor Aircraft (Trocopter / Quadcopters). Its purpose is to stabilise the aircraft during flight. To do this it takes the signal from the three on board gyros (roll, pitch and yaw) then passes the signal to the Atmega48PA IC. The Atmega48PA IC unit then processes these signals according the users installed software and passes control signals to the installed Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs). These signals instruct the ESCs to make fine adjustments to the motors rotational speed which in turn stabalises your Quadcopter.

These control boards also use signals from your radio systems receiver (Rx) and passes these signals to the Atmega48PA IC via the ail (aileron), ele (elevator), thr (throttle) and rud (rudder) inputs. Once this information has been processed the IC will send varying signals to the ESCs which in turn adjust the rotational speed of each motor to induce controlled flight (up, down, backwards, forwards, left, right, yaw).

It is fully assembled and works straight out of the box. Can be used to control the main controls of a TRI-Copter or a QUADcopter by means of the built in Gyros. See SPECIAL NOTE BELOW

Earlier kit versions required the builder to also purchase suitable Gyros, strip out the electronics and re-assemble on the main board, this one has everything done for you, and will maintain stability on any TRI or QUAD copter of your choice !

This control board uses Japanese Murata piezo gyros that are less sensitive to vibration than SMD type gyros and also features state of the art SMT manufacturing to ensure quality. This board also uses a user programmable Atmega48PA IC.

These boards are supplied to control upto 4 motors only, the firmware is what makes it work correctly, so please select the one you want from the above choices,
For a small charge, we can change the firmware to either the Tricopter or Quadcopter version at a later date should you wish to transfer it into another model.

These boards are supplied to control either a Tricopter or a Quadcopter, the main control chip Atmega48PA IC, needs to be programmed for either one, and cannot be used for both set ups, so please select the correct setup from the options at the top of this page for the type of model you want to control

These Boards are only suitable for flyers with previous experience or are technically minded . . . ! !

You will be required to do a certain amount of setting up and configuration to enable these boards to function and operate correctly,

you may need to re-flash the board with other firmware than that supplied to allow it to work with your R/C gear or make other adjustments for this board to operate correctly.

Should you not feel confident or have no experience of these types of boards, we first suggest you ask someone who may help you locally, and do some on line research to establish if these boards are boyond your capabilites - Again these board are NOT plug and play -
